This will be a short post on the aftermath of the election – one of what I’m sure will be many over the next few weeks.
Today’s Post: Media and Elites.
First, I will link to my post My Semi-Breakup with Classic Rock, in which I predicted that Trump would win the presidency because of the overreach of Democrats, and the hateful, nasty and degrading way that many on the Far Left treat Conservatives.
And around midnight on November 8th, when you are sitting on your sofa in shock, wondering what the hell just happened, and how in the hell those stupid hicks won in a landslide, I hope you will remember every cheap shot, nasty remark, eye-roll, and insult you hurled at us.
As for me, I will go on as I have been. I’ll listen to the music of the artists who haven’t slapped me yet, and turn off the radio when those who have slapped me are played, as a protest of my own. So will my Republican husband.
And I will look for new music as well. There are plenty of bands out there who appreciate their fans.
Maybe someday, we can get back together, but as I already stated, the ball is the court of the Liberals. It’s up to them, now. They can choose to bring about healing, or they can choose to keep the hate going.
We other Americans are just trying to get by.
The above, as most people know, is now the case. Oh, people may argue that Trump didn’t win in a landslide, but with Republicans in control of the Presidency, the Senate and the House, he (and we) certainly have a mandate.
And the final sentences of the above are also true. The ball is in the court of Liberals now. They need to stop the hate and bring about healing. We are willing to come together, as long as we are not relegated to a dhimmi-like existence and labeled irredeemable deplorables.
However, as the past 24 hours have shown, the Democrats don’t seem to want to heal the rift.
So.The Media and the Elites. They need to be called out, and here I go.
1). The Democrat Party. (Yes, I include them in media, since the mainstream media is simply an extension of the Party. This includes CNN, MSNBC, FOX News, ABC News, NBC News, and CBS News. Also the NYT, WaPo & other newspapers).
There are no words to describe the actions of these media hacks other than lying by omission and slander, and gas lighting the public in the lead up to the election.
Wikileaks has the examples of media collusion with the Clinton campaign. The campaign gave questions to CNN that they wanted asked of Donald Trump.
This is collusion. It’s unethical & renders these media outlets untrustworthy from this day onward. They are simply hacks. I’m not providing links; Google is your friend. Go look up the email exchanges if you don’t believe me.
Also, I include the pollsters in this. Look at this article: Pollsters suffer huge embarrassment.
Of the 11 national polls to be released in the final week of the race, only two — a Los Angeles Times/USC survey and one from IBD/TIPP — showed Trump with the lead.
The L.A. Times survey was criticized as “experimental” by industry experts for polling the same pool of people and for the way it weighted black voters.
But for the second consecutive presidential cycle, the L.A. Times and IBD/TIPP surveys were among the most accurate, making them the gold standard going forward.
The rest of the polls showed Clinton with leads of between 2 and 6 points, boosting the Democrat to a 3.3-point national lead in the RealClearPolitics average.
And the battleground data was just as biased against Trump.
There were no surveys released this year from Wisconsin that showed Trump with a lead.
Clinton held a 6.5 point lead in the Badger State heading into Election Day, and the state was not even discussed as on par with Michigan or Pennsylvania as a potential blue state pick-up for Trump.
Trump’s victory in Wisconsin — a state that has not gone for the GOP nominee since 1984 — helped him seal the deal.
In Michigan and Pennsylvania, deep blue states the GOP candidate has not won in decades, polls showed the race tightening in the home stretch, but only one poll, from Trafalgar Group, showed Trump with the lead.
Election modelers declined to flip either state into Trump’s column, even as the Clinton campaign rushed furiously to defend those states in the final days of the election.
And Trump won North Carolina by nearly 4 points, despite polls showing a toss-up there.
Many early reports coming out of the Tar Heel State bought the Clinton campaign’s spin that Hispanic turnout had spiked to such a degree that it would make up for a decline in early voting among African-Americans.
The conventional wisdom among many pollsters was that the race would be somewhat close nationally — in the 2- to 3-point range — with Clinton running the table, as President Obama did, in the battleground states that determine the outcome.
But state after state told the same story for Trump and Clinton.
White working-class voters — the silent majority that Trump said was being underestimated by pollsters — swarmed for him on Election Day, particularly in the Rust Belt states, and helped him beat the polls.
Clinton could not turn out women, or the Obama coalition of minorities and young voters, in the same numbers to keep pace.
Pollster John Zogby believes that many in the industry weighted their polls too heavily in favor of Democrats, pointing to polls that had an 8- to 9-point advantage for the party, when it should have been in the 4- to 5-point range, he said.
It’s a claim that Trump made throughout the process.
But pollsters largely dismissed that notion, saying that Democrats turn out in larger numbers in a presidential election year and that Republicans were losing registered voters, who were increasingly identifying as independents.
That assumption will have to be reexamined.
Pollsters suffer huge embarrassment. Here’s the correct headline: Pollsters lied.
Yup. That’s what happened. They lied. These lies were regurgitated 24/7 by the Democrat hacks on the news channels, causing people like me to believe they might be going insane.
I could see the huge numbers of people attending Trump’s rallies. Thousands of people filled stadiums to the rafters, with others unable to get in. Trump yard signs filled entire rural counties of Pennsylvania, an important swing state, with nary a Hillary sign in sight unless it said: Hillary for prison.
But no one would know this from watching the evening news. All they had to say was: Hillary has it. She is the next president. She is perfect, and has a vagina, and her conduct throughout her stellar career in government was a pristine wonder to behold. Trump is a racist.
That was the coverage. So, I had to get my news from twitter and YouTube videos. Other people, those not well versed in media duplicity and lying tactics no doubt believed the
polls lies, and the journalists Democrat Party workers.
I can’t imagine how people who were voting Trump must have felt when listening to the gas lighting going on. I myself questioned my own mind once or twice, and I’m used to the lies of the media. I feel sorry for people who actually still trust them.
Helpful suggestion to people who want real news: Don’t watch the news. Don’t read the NYT, WaPo, Charlotte Observer, Baltimore Sun, or any other “trusted” newspaper.
If you want truth, you MUST go to alternative news sources & sites. Start with the Drudge report and go on from there. Don’t believe the news.
The lies of pollsters and
journalists Democrat Party workers caused me, my friends, my mother, my sister, my cousin, and many other decent people to despair on election night.
The constant negative tone of the anchors combined with lying polls made us cry and and pray for deliverance, because we did not want a criminal elected as president. (More on Hillary in a later post).
Most likely the lies hurt Hillary supporters too. How many of them went to bed believing the election was in the bag, and got up the next morning in shock when they saw the news that Trump was president elect? How must they have felt?
2a. High profile Never Trump elites, like David French, Bill Kristol, Eric Erickson, George Will, and numerous others.
First things first: To Kristol, French, Will, Brad Thor, NRO, Red State, The Resurgence, etc: GFY. Yes. That’s what I said.
Your constant drumbeat of negativity and snobbery caused people to turn on Trump voters. We all wanted Hillary defeated. But the nasty antics of some Never Trumpers & their treatment of Trump voters caused a terrible rift.
Friendships among people who liked each other before April ended with ugly words online.
Other people, those who weren’t thrilled with Trump, but believed he would not destroy our country with Far Left policies, (including strict gun control and suppression of religion by forcing Catholics and people of conscience to change their deep seated beliefs as Clinton threatened) were practically forced into online closets.
You couldn’t say one positive word about Trump without risk of being attacked by some Never Trump zealot who might, if they were having a bad day, call you an idiot, stupid or whatever other nasty term they felt like flinging that day.
(Also, your conscience needed an overhaul & you were damning your soul to hell if you voted for the Republican candidate who won the primary).
So, in light of the above it was much easier for people like me to just keep quiet about my views. Meh. I talked to like minded people. But never in a public online setting like I used to. That ended with the advent of Never Trump.
So, to George Will & the Never Trump enforcers: Thanks. A lot. You did a great thing. Your actions, articles and bloviating caused decent people to be afraid to speak of supporting Trump. You have a lot in common with the Far Left. I hope you’re happy.
2b) The Hollywood elites.
Ugh. For months and months we had to watch these paragons of virtue and their disciples scream about racism, misogyny, hate, racism, hate, misogyny, the KKK, hate, bigotry, stupid hillbillies, and on and on and on. This they said about more than half of America.
To them I say: GFY. Yup. All of ya. You live in a bubble. You don’t understand what it’s like to be just an average working American trying to make ends meet. You are CLUELESS.
Keep bloviating and making fools of yourselves. Keep urging indoctrinated High School and College kids to march while chanting “Not My President.”
This has, in the past 24 hours, led to flag burning and riots in the streets, but I digress.
Now that your idiotic words & the money you throw at the Democrat Party, (which might as well be renamed the Socialist/Communist Party of America at this point) have no power to hurt me anymore, I can enjoy your foolishness. (Except for the flag burning, looting and riots. Those are no laughing matter, and YOU own them all).
I can laugh now. The Supreme Court will be balanced again. The stacking of it with more far left crazies like Ruth Bader Ginsburg is no longer a worry for me.
I have hope now, that my beliefs and rights will matter again, and you will be kept at bay. Your beliefs (which are the opposite of mine, and have already taken a good chunk of my conscience protection) will not automatically be the law.
So… knock yourselves out. Keep on hollering the epithets at us: “racist” “bigot” “homophobe” “transphobe” “misogynist” (yes, I know I’m a woman, but apparently since I voted against Hillary, I hate women, too), “knuckle-dragger” and my favorite of all: “Go back to your basket where you belong, & have sex with your daughter.”
As long as your ideology no longer threatens me and mine, I can relax, enjoy my life, and laugh.
I will end with this “Letter to the Sorkin Girls” by Aaron Sorkin. (Whoever the hell that is).
Here is an example of the exact reason a silent majority of Americans came out in droves to vote for Donald Trump:
Well the world changed late last night in a way I couldn’t protect us from. That’s a terrible feeling for a father. I won’t sugarcoat it—this is truly horrible. It’s hardly the first time my candidate didn’t win (in fact it’s the sixth time) but it is the first time that a thoroughly incompetent pig with dangerous ideas, a serious psychiatric disorder, no knowledge of the world and no curiosity to learn has.
And it wasn’t just Donald Trump who won last night—it was his supporters too. The Klan won last night. White nationalists. Sexists, racists and buffoons. Angry young white men who think rap music and Cinco de Mayo are a threat to their way of life (or are the reason for their way of life) have been given cause to celebrate.
Men who have no right to call themselves that and who think that women who aspire to more than looking hot are shrill, ugly, and otherwise worthy of our scorn rather than our admiration struck a blow for misogynistic shitheads everywhere. Hate was given hope. Abject dumbness was glamorized as being “the fresh voice of an outsider” who’s going to “shake things up.” (Did anyone bother to ask how? Is he going to re-arrange the chairs in the Roosevelt Room?)
For the next four years, the President of the United States, the same office held by Washington and Jefferson, Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt, F.D.R., J.F.K. and Barack Obama, will be held by a man-boy who’ll spend his hours exacting Twitter vengeance against all who criticize him (and those numbers will be legion).
We’ve embarrassed ourselves in front of our children and the world.
And the world took no time to react. The Dow futures dropped 7,000 points overnight. Economists are predicting a deep and prolonged recession.
Our NATO allies are in a state of legitimate fear. And speaking of fear, Muslim-Americans, Mexican-Americans and African-Americans are shaking in their shoes. And we’d be right to note that many of Donald Trump’s fans are not fans of Jews. On the other hand, there is a party going on at ISIS headquarters. What wouldn’t we give to trade this small fraction of a man for Richard Nixon right now?
Ugh. What a disgusting hate screed. The man above just called my husband ugly, untrue names. A man who doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, and who is a decent and loving husband, father and grandfather was lumped in with the KKK and others of disrepute.
So here’s what I say to Mr. Sorkin: GFY. Yes… I meant it.
And I’m no longer afraid to say it. You and your miserable hate-filled totalitarian ideolology of Far-Leftism have no more power to hurt me, as long as Donald Trump and the Republicans follow through on their duty.
