  • One Man’s Dystopia is Another’s Idea of Fun Times

March 14 is fast approaching and I’m getting ready for the release of Cadáin’s Watch, book three in my dystopian series.

My latest effort is a new book trailer.

I’m very excited about my latest book. Part of the reason is that I no longer believe that it will all come true, now that Hillary Clinton was not elected president.

As long as the GOP stands up to the Left and the courts don’t all go rogue, we have a chance to remain a free country.

Of course it’s not certain. The courts are iffy. They’re packed with Leftists who do not glance at the law while deciding cases that may mean life or death for the Americans they were appointed to serve.

We’ve seen evidence of it recently with an activist judge’s ruling (which is completely devoid of any reason and has nothing to with the constitution or the law) against President Trump’s EO for a 90 day travel ban from countries that are failed states and that may harbor people who want Americans to die.

The 9th Circuit Court of appeals ruled against Trump, and now the case will go to the Supreme Court.

My hope is that SCOTUS will look at the actual law and the constitution and reverse the 9th Circuit. Doing otherwise could be dangerous.

In the day or two after the Leftist judge made a ruling that Trump’s EO was not constitutional, refugees from the countries in question doubled in number compared to pre-Trump’s executive order.

The State Department has more than doubled the rate of refugees from Iraq, Syria and other suspect countries in the week since a federal judge’s reprieve, in what analysts said appears to be a push to admit as many people as possible before another court puts the program back on ice.

A staggering 77 percent of the 1,100 refugees let in since Judge James L. Robart’s Feb. 3 order have been from the seven suspect countries. Nearly a third are from Syria alone — a country that President Trump has ordered be banned altogether from the refugee program. Another 21 percent are from Iraq. By contrast, in the two weeks before Judge Robart’s order, just 9 percent of refugees were from Syria and 6 percent were from Iraq.

“There’s no doubt in my mind they would be doing whatever they could to get people in before something changes because, from their perspective, their motivation is to resettle these folks. It would not be the first time that State Department officials have prioritized facilitating someone’s entry to the United States over security concerns,” said Jessica Vaughan, policy studies director at the Center for Immigration Studies.

The above could be very dangerous. Back in December a Somali refugee raped a woman on a bus in Minneapolis. He had been admitted to America by Obama only three months earlier.

A 22-year old Somali man who arrived in the United States in September faces charges of criminal sexual conduct, a felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison.

“A Minneapolis man is being charged with criminal sexual conduct after being accused of raping a woman on a bus passing through Crookston Friday,” according to the Crookston Times.

“Mohamed Harir Ayanle, 22, was released from the Northwest Regional Correction Center Monday on a $5,000 bond and on the condition that he does not leave Minnesota,” the Times reported.

According to the criminal complaint filed with the Minnesota 9th Judicial District Court in Polk County, the suspect “just moved to Minnesota on September 22, 2016 from Somalia.”

That’s only one incident though. In Europe, where the refugee resettlement program is much further along than America’s, people are dying. See here.

Here’s another horror story. Daughter of top EU official raped and murdered in Germany–Afghan migrant admits killing.

Maria Ladenburger, the daughter of a high-ranking EU official, was returning from a party in the university city of Freiburg in Germany when she was assaulted on a cycle path.

She was raped and then drowned before her body was found in the River Dreisam.

The shocking incident happened on October 16 but details have only been released after an arrest on Friday.

The suspect, an Afghan migrant, was caught after police found DNA on a scarf near the path.

The scarf reportedly belonged to Maria.

They also found a strand of hair on a nearby blackberry bush.

Officers then trawled CCTV to see find people with a similar hairstyle, which led them to the suspect.

Following his arrest the suspect, aged 17, pleaded guilty to the attack and will be sentenced next year.

The stories above are not included here to sway Leftist opinion on Trump’s attempt to restrict travel for 90 days from countries classified by Obama as dangerous.

The Leftists and Democrats who back the the decision of the court are beyond reason. They hate Trump, and no amount of pleas for reason will convince them that Trump is not Hiitler, but just the new President of the United States who is doing his job to protect Americans from harm.

I included these examples to make the following point: If an American or Americans are hurt or killed by one or more refugees that were processed into the country at high speed just to get back at Trump, then the judge who began this, the 9th Circuit, and all of the Leftist media who do not report incidents like the above WILL be blamed.

This is not conjecture. They will have blood on their hands, and President Trump will be well within his rights to call for the impeachment by Congress of the judges.

Against the hostile media there is no justice. They are never held to account for anything and they never will be unless people stop watching them.

And the bloody hands will also be worn by Leftists who would take the chance of allowing someone else’s child, mother, sister, brother, father or mother to be attacked by an un-vetted refugee.

They will never admit that themselves, but they will be blamed by the rest of us. This will further divide America. However, they got back at Trump, so, no biggie.

What does all of this have to do with dystopias?

While perusing the twitter mobs on or about November 10 I happened to see a tweet from a leftist opining that he was finding it hard to get used to living in a dystopia.

This led me to type the words dystopia and dystopian into a twitter search. There I found many such tweets, all from Leftists (some of them authors) saying they were living in a dystopia.

This is still going on today. Try the search yourself and you’ll see the evidence.

Now please. It took only the election of Trump to make Liberals “feel” like they are living in a dystopia. On what basis?

Their candidate of choice lost the election.

Meanwhile, conservatives have just lived through 8 years of tyranny and abuse by Obama and his Leftist minions.

Our groups (Tea Party) were targeted by the IRS and declared to be “risky” by the Obama administration.

We were and are being forced to purchase a product by law (health insurance) which violates our rights under the Constitution.

Businesses were mobbed and attacked and sued by Leftists for refusing to bake a freaking cake. People’s lives were ruined, They were fired from their jobs for holding the “wrong” opinion on matters of conscience.

The list could on for two pages or more, and these pretentious Liberals actually believe they were inserted into a dystopia one day after their candidate lost an election?

What does that say about them?

While we suffered with no recourse and no voice, they were living it up, adding their tweets and their one star yelp reviews on pizza shops to the crushing of conservatives.

While Harry Reid gutted the rules of the Senate and became a one man gatekeeper on which bills were brought to the floor for votes, Liberals were yukking it up and pointing and laughing and name calling us when we lost un-winnable battles in our representative government.

While we watched in horror as Planned Parenthood executives spoke of selling the body parts of aborted infants in hopes of earning enough blood money to buy a Lamborghini, Leftists screamed that PP could do no wrong, even after seeing footage of the crimes.

While we begged the press to cover the Gosnell house of abortion horrors trial, the press box remained empty but for one or two real journalists.

While Obama made veiled threats against working class Americans and told his disciples to counter us by saying  ‘If they bring a knife to the fight, you bring a gun’ (paraphrase) Leftists were shouting us down on social media and labeling everyone who disagreed with them as a racist.

While we fought for the recognition that four Americans were left to die horrible deaths at the hands if Islamist butchers in Benghazi by Hillary Clinton and Obama, they were tweeting “Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi” and rolling their eyes.

While we pleaded for the truth to be told at the Benghazi hearings, Leftists decided to run the woman responsible for the failed Libyan policy that led to the attacks for president.

And they now believe they are living through tough times?

The un-attachment to reality is evident.

No, Leftists, you’re not living in a dystopia. We were.

As a matter of fact, we still are. Your screaming and chanting protests are making life more difficult for everyone.

During the terrible tyranny of Obama, which Leftists believed were high times, I prayed for deliverance from them and wrote my books.

Each book contains fictional incidents that turned out to become fact under Obama.

Book three describes my vision of the natural end of the path the Leftists were forcing us down.

I still have hope that what I wrote will not become our future. But with the unhinged behavior and complete disrespect for law that we have witnessed since November 8, it’s still possible for my dystopia to become our reality.

  • The Unhinged Left: Immigration Riots

*This post has been updated due to the removal of the original video from youtube. Below is another video of the same incident. Though not as long, you can still see the unhinged violence.*

I don’t plan to spend too much time on the unhinged Left and their attempts to subvert the Democratic process in America because they lost an election, so any and all posts on this subject will be short and to the point.

This post concerns the recent protests/riots at airports. Traffic was blocked and average Americans missed their flights because of protests like the one in the video below, which turned violent. It’s 15 minutes long, but in its entirety provides context.

So, if you watched, you saw thugs who claimed to be peaceful protesters screaming at Americans who disagreed with them. The protesters screamed the word “Nazi” over and over before attacking the dissenters and injuring one man.

The rioters, who themselves exhibited behavior reminiscent of brownshirts, were then dealt with by riot police.

    1) These protests, along with the Women’s March last week, and most likely others that will crop up in the future were financed by George Soros.

    2) George Soros is a Nazi. I will provide two links for people who are not aware of Soros’ past. Please click here and here.

Note: I do not care one iota how old or young George Soros was when he helped the Nazis. His character was either intact at that time or formed shortly after these incidents, and has remained to this day. He is evil personified.

On to the most disgusting Leftist talking point that appeared over the weekend. It was spread far and wide by Leftists who don’t have a shred of decency , respect or self awareness in their tiny minds.

I saw it spread in many forms, such as articles, memes and screenshots, but the easiest way to illustrate it for me is a link to the following tweet:

Leftist bottom feeders decided to tweet and share pictures of Anne Frank, a Holocaust victim, in an Alinsky 101 tactic to guilt Americans who back a 90 day travel ban from 7 countries that are failed states and which may harbor terrorists.

In no way do these two compare.

Anne Frank was a victim of the Nazis. The people President Trump is determined to protect Americans from would have been more than happy to rape and behead Anne Frank. They would do the same today to any Jewish girl if they could get away with it. The Nazis had allies from the Middle East during WWII.

    So, as seen on Facebook:

    From a friend’s wall:

    Ah. Yes.

“America turned away Jews fleeing Nazis in WWII – we can’t turn away Muslims now…”

Motherfucker, you saw any Jews in Europe shouting “Death to America” before getting on a boat for a trip?
    No?
Plenty of arguments for and against immigration, bans on admission and who should be permitted into America on humanitarian grounds.
The Jews of WWII (whose descendants you are proud to fuck in the UN–that’s right, I’m talking to you liberal bitches who support the Obama Administration’s knife in the back) are an argument you don’t get to use.

I agree wholeheartedly with whoever wrote that post.

Leftists have also been posting mournfully about the Statue of Liberty as a way to explain their pretzel twisted logic about protesting the 90 day travel ban, using the poem by Emma Lazarus.

Note to the unhinged: When Lazarus wrote that poem, she was, most likely, not envisioning welcoming people from failed states that have, in the past, vowed to kill Americans or force them to convert to Islam under Sharia law.

As a Jewish American not living in today’s Liberal parallel universe, she might have agreed with Trump’s EO.

After all, there are folks from certain regions of the world that have vowed that Israel and Jews are Satan, and must die accordingly.

Lazarus may not have been all that thrilled about welcoming them without vetting. Just a thought.

So take your fake and newly found love of Lady Liberty and shove it.

If you want to look at Liberty being torn apart, I invite you to gaze upon the following creative commons photos by 9/11 Photos:

Well, enough for today. I’m sure there will be more unhinged activity coming soon.

  • March For Life 2017 ~ A Labor of Love

Today I watched the March for Life in a livestream from EWTN

The coverage, including the rally on the National Mall, with speakers Kellyanne Conway, VP Mike Pence, Eric Metaxas (author of Bonhoeffer), Mia Love and Cardinal Timothy Dolan can be accessed here.

The rally was mind blowing. It was full of inspiration, love, respect, prayer and hope. If you want to be uplifted I would encourage you to watch, even if you are not prolife.

This post will consist of screenshots from my computer and links to tweets from people who attended the march.

Unlike the Pink Kitty Ladies protest against President Trump last weekend, which featured hateful screaming speeches, women who wore vaginas on their heads, and signs which desecrated the Catholic religion, today’s event was classy, kind, prayerful, inspiring and full of love and respect for all human beings around the world.

But before I share the beauty I saw today, I must mention some ugliness. On both Facebook and Twitter, the ugliness of last weekend is intruding on today’s march. That is to be expected of course; the “tolerant” crowd are simply doing what they do.

However, they are crafting a narrative about crowd size, saying that the Pink Kitty protest was much bigger than today’s March for Life.

That may or may not be true; from what I saw today, there were probably 150,000 or more people marching for life, but time will tell.

However, the Pink Kitties are not taking two important facts into account.

    1) The March for Life has taken place every January for the past 44 years, even if the news media refuses to report it. If the Pink Kitties were placed next to all the marchers from this year and years past, it would be like comparing the number of men that many pro lifers have slept with (probably between 10 and zero) to the amount Madonna has slept with (no one will ever know for sure but most likely below a thousand).

Sorry for the picture I just painted, but I thought it was a good way to make my point. Last week’s March was a drop in the ocean.

    2) The March for Life is not funded by George Soros, and the Pink Kitty-Trump protest almost certainly was.

Please read this Chicks on the Right article, Women’s March Organizers Funded By Notorious Leftist Billionaire George Soros.

New York Times columnist Asra Q. Nomani explains how she followed the money trail and how it all came back to Soros –

By my draft research, which I’m opening up for crowd-sourcing on GoogleDocs, Soros has funded, or has close relationships with, at least 56 of the march’s “partners,” including “key partners” Planned Parenthood, which opposes Trump’s anti-abortion policy, and the National Resource Defense Council, which opposes Trump’s environmental policies. The other Soros ties with “Women’s March” organizations include the partisan MoveOn.org (which was fiercely pro-Clinton), the National Action Network (which has a former executive director lauded by Obama senior advisor Valerie Jarrett as “a leader of tomorrow” as a march co-chair and another official as “the head of logistics”). Other Soros grantees who are “partners” in the march are the American Civil Liberties Union, Center for Constitutional Rights, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. March organizers and the organizations identified here haven’t yet returned queries for comment.

DUDE. That’s not just one or two Soros-linked organizations that oddly showed up in the behind-the-scenes financials for these protests. That’s a TON of left-leaning organizations getting cash from the living, breathing example of a Bond villain.

First terrorism, then Goldfinger. These progressive feminist marchers sure know how to pick their friends.

So, the Women’s March was kind of easy for those who participated.

It was held on a Saturday–March for Life is always held on a weekday when Congress is in session–and they didn’t have to raise a ton of money because George Soros funded them.

Their job consisted of knitting pussy hats, passing them out, donning vagina costumes and making those nasty signs showcased in Megan Fox’s PJ Media article (linked above). Then they went out and had fun listening to a woman who needs a mental health intervention.

Of course, they may have had to put out funds for transportation, but other than that, there was no grassroots activism. It was all planned by the Far Left.

Now for the images of today 🙂

Above is the March route. As you can see, the Mall, beginning at the Washington Monument (far left) stretches for blocks. When I attended the 2009 March for life, we were way back near the monument, not nearly close enough to hear the speeches or see the big screens (if they even had them back then).

The route is highlighted in red. It’s a long march up Constitution Avenue past the Capitol building and around the corner to the Supreme Court, where the march ends.

The above map was included in this article by International Business Times.

Above: Marchers gathered in front of the Supreme Court ahead of the actual March.

    Below are more photos.

I took screenshots with my timestamp in the upper right corner. As you’ll see, this march was HUGE.

Above, the front of the March at 2:15 pm, on Constitution ave.

The following photos are in order of timestamp.

Above, the front of the March has reached the Supreme Court building at 2:38 pm. But there are still tens of thousands of marchers to come.

You can see the Washington Monument in the distance. There are still thousands marching.

In front of SCOTUS at 2:58 pm. President Trump’s tweet is featured.

Following are screenshots without timestamps that show the huge crowds.

Hooray! There’s Our Lady of Guadalupe as she really is, unlike the creepy and blasphemous effigies carried by Crazy Cat Ladies last week.

Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us!

Below are a few tweets from March attendees and others.

    https://twitter.com/jason_a_owens/status/825103056014544898

What a difference a week makes!

On a personal note, I have been involved on & off with the respect life movement since 2008.

Today’s March made history because, for the first time, the VP of the United States addressed the crowds.

I truly believe that we are making great strides toward changing hearts and minds in America.

And it is being done because of God, who is Love.

  • Guest Post: Author Amie Gibbons ~ Beating Writer’s Depression

This is a topic dear to my heart. Amie Gibbons, author of the new book Psychic Undercover (with the Undead), gives us tips and strategies on dealing with what every writer faces at some point.

    _____________________________________________________________

When I’m depressed, my writing is usually the first thing to get hit. I read my stuff and my mind starts churning out insults like I’m a late night talk show host bashing Bush.

It sucks, I don’t have a clear enough theme, it’s been done, I’ll never be good enough, I made a typo and now must sacrifice one of my fingers to the gods of grammar… It goes on and on and basically adds up to one thought.
I’ll never make it as an author.

Yep. I go straight from ‘this story sucks,’ (for whatever reason) to ‘everything I’ve every written sucks and I’ll never make it; why even try?’ And then it starts to spiral and you go over everything bad about whatever piece you’re reading and the spiral gets bigger and bigger as it feeds on itself.

I call it the Fibonacci Shame Spiral because in my head it looks like the golden spiral that follows the Fibonacci Sequence.

And I’m not the only one. We’re writers, we’re sensitive little shits. I’m pretty sure it’s a requirement.

    So what do you do?

    1. To break the shame spiral cycle in your brain, try tapping your hands on the table for a minute. Just focus on the beat. Then, while keeping your head still, look as far to one side as you can, then the other, and go back and forth for a minute. The hands tapping and the eyes moving helps activate both sides of your brain.
This shuts up what we call the inner critic, the left side, and helps activate the right side, the creative part.
Strangely enough, these are also techniques to help people with PTSD… but I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

    2. Read through something of yours you haven’t seen for awhile. It’s probably much worse writing since it’s (I’m assuming) an earlier piece where you were working out the kinks, but despite that, you love it. It’s a good story and, oh yeah, you love these characters, and it even flows pretty well for an early work. See, you don’t suck, you’re just sick of the piece you’ve been staring at the past few months.

    3. Pick a writing prompt and write a page on that. Anything. A flash piece, part of a scene, an all dialogue argument. Edit a little, but don’t go overboard, and share it. With your writing group, online, on your blog, whatever. Rinse and repeat until you know you’ve got what it takes again.

Those are the things you can do today to snap you out of it. For a more long term solution:

    1. Join a writing group. Find people online or in the real world you can vent to when you feel this way and who can assure you everyone goes through this. Basically so they can say, ‘welcome to the club, we all think we suck, now get back to work.’

    2. Take a writing class at the local community college or some sort of online one. You’ll have a scheduled time to write and assignments, get to see other people’s work, and have them see yours. This also may be where you find your writing group. The point is to get yourself writing and to be accountable to other people so you have to write.
You notice these two are two sides of the same advice. Basically, get a community. Writers are solitary creatures and sometimes we forget we’re not alone.

    3. Remember you’re a writer for a reason. You have something to say, you have stories pouring out of your brain, you walk in realities other people can’t imagine until you show them through your doorway. You write because you have to, because it’s in your blood. There’s no such thing as quitting, there is no Plan B. You’re a writer, you write. Period. So you may as well keep trying to make some money off of it.

Happy Writing and Good Mental Health!

16107016_1162451077138114_1915185237_oAnd here’s an oh so subtle push of my new book, Psychic Undercover (with the Undead), .

Vampires aren’t the only things that go bump in the night…

Singers are a dime a dozen in Nashville, so despite her mama’s urging, psychic Ariana Ryder’s working her way towards a career in law enforcement at the FBI, one tray of fetched coffee at a time, instead. She’s got an extremely handsome boss, a dancing partner among the lab techs, and a solid year as the team rookie under her belt…

Right until the director gives her a big break, working undercover as a singer at a club to investigate why it’s being targeted by a serial killer. This might have worked better if the club didn’t happen to be a vampire nest.

Now, with the vampire’s investigator, Quil, on her case, the jurisdictional battle isn’t the only thing heating up as they race to solve the case before the killer strikes again!

  • Dear Hollywood: Please, For The Love Of God, Go On Strike.

As many people know, the election of Donald Trump has caused Leftists in general, and Hollywood in particular, to become unhinged.

I’ll begin with Leftists in general. Their latest tantrums concern the inauguration. They have mounted a campaign to shame performers who were asked to perform into dropping out, and are currently twitter and Facebook mobbing any individual or group that chooses to perform on January 20.

Here’s just one example. Below is a Facebook post by the band Three Doors Down, who will be performing next Friday.

    Note the vitriol:

Old fans of this band commented with their support, of course, but that doesn’t negate the hate from the Left. What business is it of theirs who performs at the inauguration?

And if I read that Leftist talking point about Trump “mocking a handicapped person” one more time, I may just scream into a pillow.

It was debunked. It did not happen. Trump did not mock that reporter’s disability. Trump was acting boorish on the campaign trail, but he did not go after a reporter’s disability. The true story can be found in the article below, by Mollie Hemingway.

Unlike another president, who really did make fun of mentally handicapped people:

Of course, Leftists reserved comment on the Special Olympics insult, because, Obama.

Now on to Hollywood Leftists, who have become as crazy as sh*thouse rats.

I’ll start with the big enchilada, Meryl Streep. And,except for some sh*thouse rats on steroids who will appear at the end of this post, I will also finish with Meryl, who believes she is brave.

    15965251_10210745824297757_3735873794930944266_n

(Leftists in general also believe Streep is brave for standing in front of a large group of people who agree with her every word and making a nasty speech about half of America, but they are also crazy, as shown above, so we can concentrate on Meryl.)

There is plenty to say about Meryl here in this post by Mollie Hemingway.

There was one performance this year that stunned me. It sank its hooks in my heart. Not because it was good. There was nothing good about it. But it was effective and it did its job. It made its intended audience laugh and show their teeth. It was that moment when the person asking to sit in the most respected seat in our country imitated a disabled reporter. Someone he outranked in privilege, power, and the capacity to fight back. It kind of broke my heart when I saw it. I still can’t get it out of my head because it wasn’t in a movie. It was real life.

Um, okay. Here again we have a Hollyweirdo who thinks people give a damn what she thinks, insinuating that more than half of Americans are now “showing their teeth.” Like we’re dogs, or some other rabid animal.

Hello? Meryl? Please take your narrative and choke on it. We don’t care what you think. (In fact, we believe you are deranged.)

For anyone who’s interested, here’s the video:

And here’s the big enchilada speaking of her love for child rapist Roman Polanski and giving him a standing ovation. (Leftists have no comment on this, either.)

Okay, that’s about it. Except for this:

The above Hollyweirdos have jumped the shark.

I’ll be glad when Trump takes office. The derangement of the Left will most likely remain, but once Trump begins to fix the mess Obama made, I’ll be less annoyed by their antics, and more entertained. 🙂

And now for a bit of shameless self-promotion.

The new anthology Freedom’s Light: Short Stories goes on sale Monday, January 16. It is now available for preorder.

My short story, The Birthday Party is included. I am still over the moon with happiness at being chosen.

And… my new book, Cadáin’s Watch , the final book of the Storms of Transformation Series, is available for preorder on Amazon.

Please give these books a try.

I say this not to nag readers, but for an entirely different reason, one that some folks may not have thought about.

If you are a Conservative or Libertarian, have you ever wondered why all the arts have been taken over by Leftists like the ones above?

Books, movies, TV, art and music, with few exceptions, are the property of the Left. This was not an accident. It happened gradually, but knowing that politics is downstream from culture, the Left worked behind the scenes for many years.

They inserted themselves into all the arts, and now we are faced with craziness from all sides. Anyone who does not subscribe to the Left’s worldview is mocked, derided and ridiculed.

We have a chance to gain back some ground, but we need readers to buy and read books by authors that don’t tow the Liberal line. It’s the same with movies, TV shows, music and games.

We have a reprieve, now that Hillary will not be troubling us for at least 4 years. To give independent authors or those with your values a chance will help us change the culture, one story at a time. (And please don’t forget to leave a one or two sentence review on Amazon. The more reviews for each book, the better the chances of it being seen by other people who are tired of Leftist ideology being at the top.

    cwkindle_fotorfinal

Above is the cover, designed by author and graphic artist Kia Heavey.  I am thrilled with the book cover. It really stands out, and allows readers to know what is contained between the pages.

And, I designed the warrior-angel Cadáin myself. This was no small feat, as I was almost a beginner in photoshop. However, the angel finally turned out the way I envisioned him.

On another note, according to feedback from an early reader, Cadáin’s Watch can be described as a “stand alone” book. Readers need not have read the first two books in the series to enjoy the third.

And fans of Tears Of Paradox and The Notice will not be disappointed in Cadáin’s Watch, so please order your copy today!

To preorder Cadain’s Watch (release date March 14), please click here.

  • Merry Christmas

    The story of Christmas…

    8251928656_4eeb51f8f4_b

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be enrolled. This was the first enrollment, when Quirin′i-us was governor of Syria.

And all went to be enrolled, each to his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be enrolled with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child.

And while they were there, the time came for her to be delivered. And she gave birth to her first-born son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

    Luke 2: 1-7

And in that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear.

10 And the angel said to them, “Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; 11 for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased!”

    Luke 2: 8-14

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”

16 And they went with haste, and found Mary and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they saw it they made known the saying which had been told them concerning this child; 18 and all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.

19 But Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.

  • A Letter to my Granddaughter regarding the Election of Donald Trump

    Dear G,

You don’t know this, but America has elected a new president, Donald J. Trump.

This letter is for you to read in ten years or so. At age 5, you are much too young to understand the events of the past 8 years, or what happened during the run up to the election of Mr. Trump.

In fact, you and your brother have no idea that an election even took place. This is in contrast to the children of others. One woman went on TV and disclosed that her 11 year old daughter is afraid to sleep alone, now that Hillary Clinton will not be president.

One can only wonder what her parents told her about Mr. Trump and the people who voted for him. Whatever it was, it caused their daughter great fear, and does not speak well of their parenting.

Others, people on my Facebook contacts list, or friends of friends, have posted that they do not know how to tell their children that Trump won, because of A,B,C,D,E or any number of other things they believe Trump has done or will do.

Many of their fears are baseless, because they read them in newspapers that told lies about Trump and his supporters.

You see, the big newspapers and TV news media wanted Hillary to win. And because they no longer subscribe to what were formerly the tenets of journalism, they decided to manage the news.

They lied by omission many times. They also lied outright, or cherry picked bits of truth and spun them into stories that they wanted people to believe, but were actually the opposite of truth.

Many people who wanted Hillary to be president cannot accept defeat. They are currently attempting to overthrow the democratic process, and the peaceful transition of power that has been part of our government since it’s inception.

They have done all sorts of crazy things, including attacking and beating people who they believed voted for Trump, rioting, setting fires, looting, vandalizing businesses, and other crimes.

They have also made it a point to burn the American Flag. This is a shameful thing.

All of this may sound like a scary story, but rest assured, it’s true. I would never lie to you, G. If someday you are in high school and are taught history that does not match what I have written here, do not accept it. I am telling the truth.

Then you will have to investigate on your own. Many teachers did not want Mr. Trump to win. They wanted Hillary, too. Some teachers have even declared that the Electoral College (the system designed by our founders to prevent large population centers in one or two states from electing leaders for everyone in the country) should be abolished.

Never mind that had the results been different, they would be upholding the Electoral College with every fiber in their being; such nuance does not compute when folks have invested so much in any one candidate. Hypocrisy is now the rule.

Hillary lost, and they must blame something other than the fact that she was a terrible candidate who was under investigation by the FBI, among other things.

Again, G, I would never lie to you. The reason I am using only your first initial rather than your full name, is because your Pop Pop and I voted for Mr. Trump.

I have never posted a photo of your face on this blog. Nor have I ever referred you by anything but your first initial.

This is not because I am not proud of you. I am very proud that you are my granddaughter. I hide your face for reasons of privacy, because I don’t want the people who do not agree with me politically to know your name or what you look like.

Because of the way your Pop Pop and I were treated over the past 8 years due to  our politics, I do not feel safe enough to put my own name on this blog or my books. So of course I would never allow you to be known.

I’m hoping the previous paragraph sounds far-fetched when you read it in the future, but believe me, it is certainly applicable now. You have only to do research if you doubt me.

Ask me and I will help you find the resources. Or ask your Pop Pop, or Aunt Allie. Aunt Allie is a college student now, and she will back me up.

Before I write my hopes for you, I need to show you something. The following screenshots were taken this morning, and show headlines of news stories happening today.

    drudge3

Here are the remainder of the headlines.

    drudge-4

As you can plainly see, the world is in an uproar. You can get the idea of what is going on by looking at different headlines.

Many people– those in positions of power, with bully pulpits in the news business, in Hollywood, and in the Democrat party–believe things will get worse now, because Hillary Clinton will not  be president.

The current First Lady, Michelle Obama, even went on TV and told everyone who was watching that she feels like there is no hope anymore, because her husband is leaving office, and instead of Hillary Clinton, who would have continued his policies, the voters chose Donald Trump to lead our nation.

But I have great hope. I will write a letter to your little brother, E, and your baby cousin, B, some other time. Today I wanted to write for you, to tell you what I would like your future to look like. So, here are my hopes.

Hope One: I hope the terror attacks will be brought under control over the next 8 years, so you will be safe. Safe to go to school, or to the movies with your friends, or to a part-time job. Safe to play sports or go to dance class.

And safe to go to church. The people who attack do it because they do not want girls and women to do the the things I hope you will do. And they especially do not like our Catholic faith.

Other people (Americans) try to suppress Christianity because it clashes with the lifestyles they have chosen. They don’t like Jesus’ teachings, and they don’t want to follow God’s rules.

These other Americans have decided that they want no restrictions on the brutal practice of abortion, and because our faith forbids the killing of unborn children, they marginalize us and say we are religious freaks.

At some point you will be told that having an abortion is every woman’s right, and that religion is hateful for attempting to remove that right.

When this happens you must ask yourself: What about the baby’s rights? Then think long and hard about it. Do not follow along with the crowd, just because they believe this.

You must think for yourself. Say the Hail Mary and the Our Father while thinking about the horror of abortion, and I know you will find the answer. And again, talk to your aunts if you don’t want to ask your mom or me. They are young, but they know what is true.

Yes, I understand how hard it is for you to believe the above, because you have loved Jesus and Mary since you were only a baby. Each time I picked you up, you would grab my medal and crucifix, and when you were older you always said hi to Mary.

This Christmas Pop Pop and I are giving you your very own “Mary Medal”, because you asked for one. And, you like to pray.

Each night you pray the Hail Mary. I want you to be able to do it for the rest of your life without fear of being attacked for your faith.

Hope Two: I hope that the scourge of heroin is gone from the youth of America. Every day there is another instance of a young person succumbing to this terrible drug.

It is much too easy for teenagers to get, because America at this time is a country without borders. Drugs snake their way into our country, and kids always end up dead.

Please, never, ever think that you can try this drug. You can’t. It will take control of you and turn you into a shadow, someone no one will recognize. And then something worse might happen.

Hope Three: I hope you will be able to be yourself. You are a modest little girl. At age 5 you are already shy, and you don’t want to change in front of anyone but me when I am babysitting.

I am quite sure that you will want to be a little girl who can have privacy. There are some people in America who do not believe girls should have this option, or boys either.

Because some kids and adults are confused about their gender, activists are pushing for schools to allow boys into the girls bathroom and locker room, and vice versa.

When girls complain that they are uncomfortable undressing in front of a boy (even if the boy believes he is a girl), the girls are told that they must get used to it, and that they need to become comfortable with letting a strange boy see them getting undressed.

Yes, I understand that this sounds like the ravings of a lunatic. Nevertheless, it is true. So my hope is that this issue will be settled soon, and that the many kids who feel uncomfortable will not be forced to “get used to it”, just to make one or two kids that are confused feel comfortable.

Hope Four: I hope you do not grow up too fast. The issues I wrote about above are not anything a child should have to deal with.

I hope you read lots of books. Good books that do not push the messages above into your brain until you believe they are “just the way things are.”

I hope you will be kind and smile a lot. I hope you will make nice friends. I hope you will have good health care. I hope you will learn to help others, and that you will grow up loving your neighbor and your country.

I hope that you will have every advantage your own parents had while growing up. I pray every day for this.

There are many more hopes that I could list, but these are the ones that pertain to President Trump and the people he will appoint to help him make our country great again.

I prayed every day for the past 8 years that God would help us–we who want to keep the right to practice our religion without government interference, and our right to self defense, and our right to speak our minds without being marginalized or suppressed.

America is a wonderful place. And now that Hillary Clinton will never be president, there’s a good chance that the headlines above will change for the better, and that our rights will not diminish.

I have all of this hope not because I believe in government, or in Donald Trump, or in any earthly institution or person.

This hope has come from God, and I am thankful every day that He, in his mercy, has given us a chance to change things.

I hope you read these words someday, and know how much I love you, and that I did everything I could to make sure you will grow up to be free.
